In September 2006, Alcan and The Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) selected Instituto Terra as a finalist for the Alcan Prize for Sustainability. This is a US$1 million Prize that recognizes organizations demonstrating a comprehensive approach to addressing, achieving and further advancing economic, environmental and/or social sustainability.
Instituto Terra was one of 10 organizations selected from a field of almost 200 entries from 55 countries around the world.
As a finalist, a member of Instituto Terra was invited to participate in the one-year Postgraduate Certificate in Cross Sector Partnership accredited by the University of Cambridge.
